Sometimes life can get a little rocky.

Let’s be real.

Mid-life can be deeply rewarding, but it can also feel like a never-ending pile of stress. It’s not surprising that you’re feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders! You may be navigating complex relationships, career and caregiving responsibilities, finances, and health issues—all that in addition to a viral pandemic.

You may find that troubles from your past are becoming more difficult to ignore. On top of it all, you may notice that your tools for managing stress (alcohol, food, pushing yourself to the max) aren’t really cutting it anymore and may even be causing harm. The pressure can feel overwhelming—and you may question how you’re going to handle it all. You want to feel and BE different, but you’re not sure how.

The good news is that mid-life, with all its hassles and challenges, can also be a time of amazing transition and growth. It’s possible to get joy and peace back into your life and maybe even find a new level of satisfaction that you’ve never known before. As a mid-lifer myself, I know this stage of life can be tough and I’m here to support you. There definitely is "more to life than this," and I want to help you get there.

What does a therapy session look like?

For the time being, I am scheduling online sessions only. Thankfully, video appointments help make therapy more flexible than ever before.

Maybe you’ve been to therapy before, or maybe this is your first time—either way, it can be helpful to have a little more information on how things work. Also, therapists, and therapy, can look really different depending on who you’re seeing and what you’re working on. In our sessions, you are the one guiding the conversation, because it’s important that we focus on you and your reasons for being in therapy, but I promise I won’t just stare at you with a blank look on my face! I am conversational and interactive, and my style is warm, genuine, open and non-judgmental.

Before we schedule a session, I like to do a brief consultation to make sure that what I can offer you fits well with your needs. If we discover together that I don’t have the expertise that best suits you, I’ll make sure to provide you with some referrals to help get you where you need to go. Click here to start your consultation.

If we agree to work together, before your first session I will message you through my patient portal with intake paperwork. All forms can be filled out and signed electronically, hooray! After your paperwork is complete, we will schedule a 60-minute intake session. During that first session, we will go over your intake paperwork and get to know each other. This session will be a little longer than usual so I can get a full understanding of your needs and how I can help. Every session after that will be 50 minutes, and I recommend in the beginning we meet once a week for at least the first six weeks to keep up the momentum we see in session. Payment is automatically collected via credit card at the end of each session.

You can schedule future sessions online or by talking with me directly. Please remember to cancel or reschedule more than 24 hours in advance as all late cancel or no-show sessions will be charged the full fee for that session.
